Our new site is being built at the moment and will launch Autumn 19.
First Presbyterian Church, Belfast is the oldest church building in continuing use in Belfast. The congregation dates back to 1644 but the church in which we worship was built in 1783 and has been in use every Sunday from then until today. There have been 24 Ministers who have taken their pace in the pulpit and has been the home of radical ideas that gripped Ulster society since the late 18th Century – from the United Irishmen to the leaders of Commerce and Industry
First Church (as it is known) is a liberal congregation within the Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church in Ireland. We are traditional in format, yet radical in ideas. For those seeking answers we might not be the place for you. For those asking questions we invite you in, for you are in good company. We are a non-creedal congregation that welcomes a wide range of outlooks and opinions while never imposing one. Seekers after the truth are always welcome.
The 26th series of Summer Recitals started in the Church on Wednesday 17th July and continue each Wednesday at 1.15pm until 21st August. The full details will be available in a brochure in the vestibule from Sunday 30th June or online at www.facebook.com/FirstChurchBelfast
